Alan S. Graffam~Email
President
Alan began his insurance career in 1970 with The Travelers Insurance Company. In 1979 after six (6) years with Union Mutual Insurance Company (now UNUM-Provident) in their Reinsurance division, he co-founded Benefit Management of Maine, Inc., a Third Party Administration (TPA) firm. In 1989 Benefit Management was sold and Alan entered into an agreement with LDG, a Boston area Managing General Underwriter (MGU), to represent them as a sub-MGU. When LDG was sold to HCC Insurance Holdings, he continued as a sub-MGU until mid 2003. At that time he and his wife Sue founded ASG Risk Management, Inc.

Susan Graffam~Email
Executive Vice President
Susan began her insurance career in 1985 as an Underwriting Assistant working at R. E. Moulton Insurance Agency in Marblehead, Massachusetts. In 1987 Sue became a Senior Underwriter working closely with Third Party Administrators (TPA’s) and Brokers. Sue also worked as an Employee Benefits Account Specialist for Morse, Payson & Noyes in Portland, ME, servicing fully-insured and self-funded accounts. In 1990 Sue and her husband Alan entered into an agreement with a Boston area Managing General Underwriter (MGU), LDG and Sue became the Senior Consulting Underwriter for Alan S. Graffam Consulting. Upon the purchase of LDG in 1995 Alan S. Graffam Consulting was contracted with HCC Benefits. In 2003 Alan S. Graffam Consulting became ASG Risk Management, Inc., a Managing General Underwriter (MGU). As the Executive Vice President Sue oversees and assists in the administration, auditing, accounting, training and underwriting departments.

Peter Parent~Email
Senior Vice President
Peter began his insurance career in 1993 working for a large brokerage firm in Boston MA. Two years later he entered the Stop Loss industry as an underwriter for a national MGU based in Massachusetts. Since this time he has held senior level marketing and underwriting positions for some of the largest stop loss providers in the nation. His extensive reinsurance background enables him to be well versed in all areas of stop loss from underwriting and marketing to claims and administrative procedures. As Senior Vice President of ASG Risk Management, Inc., Peter oversees all risk management functions.

Denise Brennan~Email
Controller
Denise began her career in the Medical Stop-Loss Industry in 1992 as Operations Manager for Excess Underwriters, Inc. (a subsidiary of R. E. Moulton, Inc.) located in Wallingford, CT. In 1994 she transferred to the Corporate Headquarters of R. E. Moulton, Inc. in Massachusetts during the consolidation of both Companies, wherein, she became Controller until July 2002. Prior to her current position with ASG Risk Management, Inc. Denise worked as the Operations Manager for Safeco Life & Investments (Symetra) in their East Coast Region. As Controller of ASG Risk Management, Inc. Denise manages all of the Premium Accounting and Carrier/Reinsurance reporting functions.
Denise received her Accounting Certification from Salem State College in 2000.

Mary Corbin~Email
Claims Manager
Mary began her career in the insurance industry in 1985 with Blue Cross Blue Shield of Maine (now Anthen Blue Cross Blue Shield ) in their claims division. In 1989 she transferred to NCAS a new start-up TPA, affiliate with BCBS. In 1995 Mary became the Claims Manager for NYLCare Health Plans of New England where she managed the "start-up" of the claims department. After the acquisition of NYLCare by Aetna Inc., Mary assumed additional responsibility of the Customer Service Division. As the Claims Manager of ASG Risk Management, Inc. Mary oversees all claims administration and functions.

Margaret Sherin~Email
Underwriter
Maggie began her insurance career with ASG in June of 2006. Her responsibilities as an underwriter include evaluating Employer Stop Loss quotes as well as building and maintaining relationships with brokers and TPA's. She has gained in depth knowledge of our Stop Loss products working closely with the claims and marketing departments. She looks forward to continuing to contribute to the success of ASG.
Maggie is a graduate of the University of Southern Maine with a degree in history. She currently resides in Portland.

Gardner M. Roberts II~Email
Director of Marketing
Gardner started his insurance career with Connecticut Mutual Life Insurance Company in 1975. Following seven years of primarily individual life sales, Gardner entered the Stop Loss industry via the Third Party Administration arena. Over the next 25 years Gardner was exposed to all aspects of TPA marketing and sales. Through various mergers and acquisitions he was instrumental in the growth and success of Benefit Management of Maine, Inc., Machigonne Benefit Administrators, Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Maine and Health Plans, Inc., the TPA arm of Harvard-Pilgrim Health Care. With ASG Risk Management, Inc. Gardner manages all Marketing activities and continues to maintain and develop broker/consultant/TPA relationships.

Teri Cookman~Email
Claims Analyst
Teri began her insurance career in 1988 as a Workers Compensation Claims Clerk for Hanover Insurance in Westbrook, Maine. In 1989, Teri became a Workers Compensation Claims Technician for Sedgewick James Insurance Company in Portland, Maine for three years. In 1992, Teri joined Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield in South Portland, Maine, and worked as a Medical Claims Examiner for ten years, a Customer/Provider Service Representative for two years, and a Membership Enrollment Specialist for three years. As the Claims Analyst for ASG Risk Management, Inc., Teri handles all of the companies claims functions.
